EduMic – a classroom remote microphone

Compared to children with normal hearing, children with hearing loss experience more difficulty in perceiving speech and learning words in noise.

Oticon EduMic is a classroom hearing solution that provides direct access to the teacher’s voice from a wireless remote microphone to help children manage noise, reverberation and distance in the classroom. Top benefits include

  • Strong and reliable signal to hearing aids
  • Very user-friendly
  • Durable and built to last
  • Discreet and comfortable to wear
  • Only need to pair once to an unlimited amount of hearing aids
  • Includes a telecoil mode
  • Features a 3.5 mm audio jack cable to stream sound from computers, smartboards and tablets

Using 2.4 GHz wireless technology, EduMic integrates with all Oticon Bluetooth® enabled hearing aids, including Oticon Play PX, Oticon Opn Play™ and Xceed Play, eliminating the need to invest in the additional components required when using traditional FM classroom systems.

ConnectClip – personal remote microphone

Children and teenagers with hearing loss want to use today’s gadgets to feel connected, not only to people but also to the world. ConnectClip is a multipurpose accessory that can transform your child’s hearing aids into high-quality headphones and stream sounds to both ears.

  • Children and teenagers can make clear, safe, hands-free calls with an iPhone® or Android™ phone. ConnectClip transmits the caller’s voice directly to the hearing aids while the built-in microphone clearly transmits what you say to the caller.
  • ConnectClip gives children the ability to access the same Bluetooth®-enabled devices as their peers so they can listen to music in rich, high-quality stereo or play games with friends online.
  • Even with the best hearing aids, it can sometimes be difficult to clearly hear what someone is saying, like at home, on the playground or in the car. ConnectClip can help in these difficult listening situations by streaming another person’s speech—up to 65 feet away—directly to all Oticon Bluetooth enabled hearing aids, including Oticon Play PX, Opn Play or Xceed Play hearing aids.

Oticon apps

The new Oticon Companion app and Oticon ON app offer a wide range of features that add to the outstanding audiology of Oticon’s pediatric hearing aids. It makes it easy to check the battery status and lets your child or you adjust volume and switch between programs, settings and more. These apps also include a “find my hearing aid” feature if hearing aids are misplaced. While you can continue to use the ON app with your child, we would recommend moving to the Companion app in the near future.

Amigo FM

Oticon’s Amigo FM is an easy and reliable classroom microphone system for children wearing Oticon hearing aids without built-in 2.4 GHz Bluetooth® low energy receivers.

The FM system is comprised of:

• A microphone plugged into a belt-clip transmitter
• A receiver

Amigo FM is designed to help students overcome the effects of distance and noise, so they can put less effort into hearing and concentrate on understanding what is being said.

EduMic can quickly and easily be connected to an existing Amigo FM system to support a mixed classroom of children wearing Oticon hearing aids with and without 2.4 GHz Bluetooth® low energy receivers.
