A build-up of wax can affect your hearing. It can cause reduced hearing aid performance; feedback (whistle); and damage to your hearing aid.

We have the training and equipment to remove earwax build-up using a microsuction to safely suck out earwax from your ear canal.

Microsuction is the best option for earwax removal because unlike ear syringing it is:

Microsuction ear wax removal is a safe procedure performed by our trained audiologists using gentle micro-suction technology. 

The patient lies on a comfy couch, and a small conical metal speculum will be placed in the ear. And then our audiologist will use a narrow suction probe to clean the ear.

There is some moderate sucking noise but this is usually well tolerated by most patients including children.

It is unusual to get any side effects from micro suction however occasionally there may be slight dizziness or hearing loss may occur. These are temporary usually only lasting a few minutes and less frequent than with syringing.
